
China is a vast country with full of wonders. The journey will give you a glimpse of the country by visiting Forbidden City, Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors and Giant Pandas. We will first start from the charming city of Chengdu, the home of giant panda, followed by the Ancient Xian and the imperial treasures of Beijing to complete the journey.
Airport pick-up and transfer to the hotel. We will have a welcome dinner (18:00) and enjoy beautiful Chengdu city in the evening.
We will visit Chengdu Panda Base in the early morning. The famous pandas returned from Zoo Atlanta, Mei Huan and Mei Lun are reside here. We will visit the twin sister and other cubs too. After the lunch, we will go to Dujianyan city and visit the irrigation.This is the oldest and only surviving no-dam irrigation system in the world.
A very exciting day to feed pandas and clean their enclosures. We will visit the famous pandas returned from Washington DC, Bao Bao and Tai Shan in Dujiangyan Panda Base. The base served the purpose of rescuing injured pandas from the wild, a great opportunity to understand pandas from behind the scene. After the lunch, we will watch a documentary video and learn to make panda bread Wowotou.
We will visit the most prominent panda base in the world, Gengda Wolong Panda Base. The base located in the panda’s habitat, Wolong Nature Reserve, a UNESCO site with many different kinds of wildlife, like pandas, snow leopards..etc. The base started the panda conservation project since the early 80’. They are focusing on reintroduction pandas to the wild now. After the lunch we will drive to Yaan city. (2.5hrs drive)
Bigengxia Panda Base served the purpose of panda mating and breeding. The base has lush vegetation with fresh air thanks to the abundance rainfall. We will visit the panda base in the morning. After the lunch, we will visit the beautiful gorge with the beautiful waterfall and creek. The city was the important hub of Tea Horse Road between Han and Tibetans. We will visit the historical ancient road in the reserve. Then we drive to Leshan city to spend a night.
We will get up early to see the biggest Buddha in the world. The Buddha was carved into the side of a cliff between 713 and 803. We will hike to the top and visit the monastery. Later we can take a boat to get good view of Buddha. After visiting the Buddha, we will try the delicious food in Leshan city. It has the best and well-known street food in the region. We will go back to Chengdu today.
We will take a train to see the only brown panda in the world, Qi Zai. Foping Panda Valley located in Qingling mountains which is far away from the city. There are golden monkeys and golden pheasants in the Panda Valley. We will spend a night in the Panda themed hotel located in the reserve.
We will visit Qi Zai again before leaving to Xian this morning. Xian is one the oldest ancient capital in the world. In fact, the city was the capital of 13 Ancient dynasties in China. We will do the picnic lunch and visit Terracotta Army this afternoon. The clay sculptures were buried with the first emperor and to protect him in the afterlife.
We will visit the Wall in the early morning. The Wall has the history of more than 1400 years, also one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. We will get on top of the Wall and view the beautiful Xian city. Riding the bicycle is a good way to experience the ancient Wall. After the lunch we will take High-speed train to Beijing.
We will visit the three great sights of Beijing today. The Forbidden City was home to 24 emperors and the imperial palace where treasures are housed. Tiananmen Square is the largest city square in the world. It was the place for important ceremonies during the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty and It has witnessed many important events in China's modern history. In the afternoon we will get on a rickshaw to the hutongs to discover the traditional local lifestyle.
We will visit the most iconic site in China, the Great Wall, stretching thousands of miles from the Yellow Sea to the Gobi Desert. It was built to prevent invasion from the northern nations. We will visit the part with least touristy and walk on the incredible structure to fully appreciate the ancient wonder. This evening sit down to a traditional dinner of Peking Duck.
